Design Notes
Why Pepper the Giant Purple Dog Feels So Chaotic
Pepper the Giant Purple Dog is designed to feel instantly readable but deliberately silly. The controls are simple because the personality is supposed to do the noisy work: big jumps, dramatic stomps, goofy sounds, and a purple dog that grows larger than good sense allows.
Two Levels, Two Jobs
Level 1 exists only to teach the player what matters. Space means jump. Down means stomp. Once those two ideas are clear, Level 2 becomes an infinite arcade challenge where speed and timing matter more than memorizing rules.
Sound as Feedback
The game's sound effects are playful, but they also communicate state. A checkpoint sound confirms progress, a stomp sound sells impact, and the background loop adds pressure as the endless mode speeds up.
Why the Purple Dog Is Giant
The oversized character makes each action easy to read. Pepper is large enough to feel ridiculous, but simple enough that players can focus on timing. That balance helps the game stay approachable even when Level 2 becomes frantic.
